Productive Programmer

High Value Programming

Hi, my name is Christian Ransom. I'm a passionate software developer who constantly seeks out how I can be more intentionally productive. This site is the place where I write about things I've learned to increase my productivity in either quality or quantity as well as other interests of mine.

What is Productive Programming?

Productive programming is efficiently using your time and energy to produce valuable code. As a software developer, my code is my product. I want the highest return in value for the time I spend programming. That might mean finding ways to output code faster, or writing quality code that is easier to maintain in the long run. It might also be trying to find the optimal balance between the quality and quantity of code.

Being a productive programmer requires carefully analyzing my work and my end goals. It includes being resourceful and using tools and technology properly, from learning vim, and how to google, and even how to take breaks effectively. My goal is to always be improving what I do, and how I do it.
